The complete measurement guide for bottoms. Waist, inseam, rise, and leg opening decoded for Western buyers.
Pants sizing is where most buyers get burned. A hoodie that fits slightly small is wearable. Pants that do not fit are unusable.
The Four Key Measurements
Waist, inseam, rise, and thigh width determine fit. Always compare all four to a pair you already own. One mismatch can ruin the entire garment.
Asian Waist Conversion
Asian waist sizes run two to three inches smaller than tagged. A size 32 in China often measures closer to 29 or 30 inches. Never trust the tag number. Trust the centimeter measurement in the chart.
Inseam and Rise
Inseam affects where the hem falls. Rise determines whether the waist sits at your hips or navel. Both are critical for silhouette. High-rise pants look different from low-rise even at the same waist size.
Thigh and Leg Opening
Athletic or cargo styles need extra thigh room. Tapered fits need a smaller leg opening than straight-leg styles. Check both measurements if you have specific preferences.
Stretch Fabrics
Denim with elastane content fits tighter and stretches with wear. Order true to chart for stretch fabrics. They will give slightly after a few wears. Non-stretch fabrics require more precision.
QC Verification for Bottoms
Request a flat-lay measurement photo from the warehouse. Compare waist, inseam, and thigh to the seller chart. If any measurement deviates by more than 2cm, exchange immediately. Pants do not forgive sizing errors.
